A five-star hotel reborn within an 18th-century Ottoman khan, beneath the great glazed dome of the old city.
Built between 1732 and 1736 by the Ottoman governor Sulayman Pasha al-Azm, this khan once sheltered the caravans of the Silk Road. After a careful restoration that preserved most of its original stone, it reopens as a five-star hotel — steps from the Umayyad Mosque and the souqs of Straight Street.
Twenty-five rooms and two royal suites sit within the old vaults, each a pocket of calm inside the living stone.
